Yesterday, I went to the Rennaisance Festival with my friend Grahm, my sister Marissa, my Mom, Grahm's dad Brian, Grahms mom Vero, my step-dad Brett, and Grahms sister Morgan. The Rennaisance Festival looks a lot like medieval times, which was in the past in Europe. One of my favorite things we did was feed lorikeets, a bird from Australia, and New Guinea (an island near Asia and Australia. Australia is also a island but still a Continent too.) It was very cool feeding the lorikeets, in fact, one even landed on my head. One lorikeet bit Grahms finger. But one didn't to me. In fact, I thought the lorakeets liked me. Also another thing we did was one thing that was medieval. Grham and I swung on huge swings with ropes that you pull when you are down. It makes you go higher. We got on the yellow swing, and Marissa and Morgan rode in the green swing. My favorite color! But we still had a fun time swinging. After we swung on the huge swings, we went to a stage show. With this woman speaking and telling us a story/play. Brian was one of the charactors. He was a woman Beulah. It was so funny. Anyway, the play was about a king who had a chest but the step mother Beulah (played as Brian) wanted the chest so she asked the king not to let his daughter get married. So when the kings daughter gets maried, she gets the chest and the step mother gets put in the brig. That was a verry funny play. After the play, We were on our way to the joust, another medieval thing. We stoped by a thing where you wrap something around your body near a trampoline, you jump very high and do flips. Grahm and I wery very interested in it but my mom said it was alot of money. So she gave me ten bucks. She said "this is your ride money, you spent two dollors and fifty cents on ride money so far, so if you do that, youl have one dollar and fivty cents left. do you want to go?" I said yes. I did not realy want to miss the joust so I kept worrying I was going to miss the joust. Brett told me to stop worrying so much I tried to stop but I kept asking Brian then Brett caught me complaining to Brian so then I went up to to the bounce thing, I tried to do a backflip but I couldn't do it, but I did a good job anyway. Then that was went to the joust. We didn't win but we had a good time. Then after the joust, we ate snack. I had a soft pretzel. Same thing with my mom. So while we were eating we were looking at the map. I saw a petting zoo. Just so you know, I am a biologist so I am very interested in animals. So I ask mom" Hey mom, can we go to the petting zoo"? She said" yes but well have to do it after the magic show". So then I thought a magic show of course. So we went tothe magic show and he did all kinds of cool stuff including makeing a 20 dolar bill disapeer. But he made it come back in a gift. Then we went to the petting zoo (which took long to get there of course.) We saw a lamma, two ponys a sheep and two goats. It was verry awsome out there, then it was time to leave. Wow! that sounds verry great. The last time I came here besides now was when I was four years old. I just can't wait until we come again.

the fun big week
Not too long ago, I went to Mikes for a few days. He lives in a one-storied house, with two friendly and energetic dogs (usually). But don't act very crazy with Mike's dogs. Their names are Rosey and Rascal. Don't mean to brag, but Mike didn't have cable. But we did not mind it, and just enjoyed his house. Besides, he had such comfy beds. If you have never slept in a bed with your sibling, your lucky, because I had to sleep with my sister, Marissa. What is so bad about it, you may ask? First of all, she was hogging the blanket. Which I did not like, and I hardly got any sleep. But I was fine in the morning but Marissa was TIRED! She would not get out of bed until further notice. Now the first day we left the house, We went to Hershey park where we got to see how they made chocolate. At the end of the tour, we went to this store with chocolate stuff. It was EVERYWHERE! Then we went to the zoo. We saw everything there. We saw otters, porcupines, Gila monsters, turtles, tortoises, lemurs, deer, Buffalo's, skunks, raccoons, toads, frogs, snakes, bobcats, owls, ravens, owls, bears, monition lions, and my favorite, the prairie dog. Which I told you about on another blog I made. the zoo was awesome, and I want to go to it again. Then came the fun part. The amusement park. There were all kinds of monster rides that were very fun. Then we went back to Mike's house. a few days later we left again to go to a hotel in Alexandria (Virginia). I played my DS a lot in the hotel. We stayed at a hotel so we could go to Washington DC. We saw lots of famous buildings at DC. We also went to a museum and they even had an insect zoo. A zoo with lots of insects. We saw all kinds of cool insects, like the leaf bug, the black widow, and even tarantulas. It was a long day in Washington DC. Now, the famous buildings I saw was the Washington monument, the white house, the Lincoln memorial, and the jefforson memorial. It was awsome after we went to Washington DC, we suddenly went on a ship where we saw Wahing ton DC on the ship. It was cool. after the boat ride, and when we left the hotel. We went back to Mike's where we got to see the movie snow dogs. It was very funny and Iwant to see it again. Sounds like a awsome vacation huh?

Kite Flying
Yesterday, I flew a kite, that looked kinda like a rainbow bird.
It was very awesome and the kite was flying higher than the birds. How would you like to fly a kite like that? I also came with rusty, my dog. I took pictures with him, which took a long time because the sun was in my eyes whenever my dad took a picture which made it hard to open my eyes. Then I took another picture with rusty and my annoying, older sister, Marissa. It took us a long time for that picture too. While Dan my step dad was flying the kite, we were still tacking pictures, wondering who the the kite would land on. Suddenly, the kite landed on all three of us. Wow. My first time flying a kite might be the best time.

kung fu panda
last week, I saw the movie kung fu panda with Dad and Dan, movie theater. The movie was very funny. It was about a panda named Po, that was chosen as the dragon warrior by the turtle. But the master didn't think that po was ready to be the dragon warrior. So he trained po about kung fu, and po got really good at it, ( well not at first ) and po defeated the evil leopard. The leopard became evil because, the master found the leopard next to his house, when he was a baby. The master thought the leopard was so cute, he thought of it as his own son. But one day he was not chosen the dragon warrior. So that's how he became evil. The movie was so funny, I kept talking about it. If you have not seen the the movie, you should see it.

Piloting a Boat
I got to drive Grandma JoAnne's boat this week on the river. We saw a deer that was running along the side of the river. The deer was very fast. Gee, I never knew that deer could run that fast. Also, it was really awesome that I could drive the boat, because I was the youngest human being on the boat (Buddy, the dog, is seven). Everyone gave me directions because they were scared that I was going to crash. Now before I sailed, I told them I drove million of boats before, you just weren't there. Then I got to drive in the middle of the river all the way to the dam. It was a lot of fun. Then I showed them I could pilot a boat.

our Petosky trip
We went on a Petosky trip which I got very tired of, because it was when you ride your bike 26 miles. Would you be tired of that? Now before we went biking, we chose our bikes at the biking center. My bicycle was blue, small, and had the word giant on the back of it like all of our bikes. Then we started to ride our bikes after we filled our water bottles with cold water and put on our helmets. We did take alot of stops because I got tired and thirsty real easy.
All of a sudden, we went down a really big hill. It was huge and we had fun riding down it to Lake Michigan in Bay Harbor. Imagine that! We had to go back up that big hill later. When we got down the hill, we passed by a rocky field next to the lake. We took lots of pictures there. I was probably really sweaty in the pictures. We ran out of water, so we got some more in a dinking fountain. Suddenly there was some lightening and it started to rain so we didn't make it all the way to Charlevoix like we were supposed to. We rode back to the biking station and returned our bikes and helmets. That was one great bike ride, even though I got really sweaty.

The DeYoung Family Zoo
I really wanted to go to the zoo and see some black bears. So we went to the zoo in Wallace, Michigan on Monday with Marissa, Grandma JoAnne, Grandpa Bob, Dad, Dan, and Aunt Patty. We saw a lot of endangered and non-endangered animals there. The first place we went was the reptile building. Reptiles are cold blooded animals, that have scales, and a back bone called a vertebrate. Reptiles also lay eggs like birds, amphibians, and insects. It was called the reptile building, even though they a few mammals in there. Mammals are warm blooded animals that give live birth, witch means the don't lay eggs. But a platypus lays eggs, but is a mammal. Isn't that unusual? Mammals also have hair. Anyway, we human beings are mammals.
Now first in the reptile building I saw a snake. It was HUGE and long! How would you like to see a snake like that. next I saw a turtle and a small alligator. They were in the same tank. I actually thought they were awesome. Next I saw a fox. Can you believe that?! So when we got out of the reptile building, we got to hold some animals. The first thing I held was a spider monkey. It was very cute. But the second thing I got to hold was another monkey. It was very cute like the spider monkey. and guess what else I got to hold. It was a endangered tiger! Can you believe that?! Then after that, we went to the barn where I got to pet a pig. Now I am a pig's predator, but I should treat the pig nicely and barely eat bacon. I also fed a goat and a lama. It was great and I loved it, but then it was time to go. Then guess what, I saw a bear like I wanted!

GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK
Yesterday I went to the Greek restaurant. It was a blast, and they really had great food. At the restaurant I ordered chicken shish-ka-bob. shish-ka-bob is a stick with this pattern on the stick. Meat, tomatoes, veggies, and onions. That's the pattern on the stick. Marissa ordered the same thing as me. That was the time at the Greek restaurants

my summer yesterday
Yesterday I did some things that I really want to tell you about. The 1st thing I did yesterday was go to the market and the bagel store. We bought bread, chips and salsa, bananas, lunch meat, and jack cheese (which I like) at the market. At the bagel store, we bought crisp apple bagels oh my favorite. The 2Nd thing I did was go to the beach. It was a blast, and we saw two pelicans in the ocean. I think that they mated because one was brown and the other was brown with a white stripe on it. the 3rd thing I did was go to the i hop restaurant. We all had pancakes there, and I also had a cheese Burger with fries. That was what I did yesterday.

PraIrie dogs
I KNOW SOME THINGS ABOUT PRAIRIE DOGS, SO I'M GOING TO TELL YOU SOME THINGS ABOUT PRAIRIE DOGS. FIRST OF ALL, PRAIRIE DOGS BARK, AND HAVE THE WORD DOG IN THEIR NAME, BUT PRAIRIE DOGS ARE NOT DOGS AT ALL. PRAIRIE DOGS ARE A GROUND SQUIRREL THAT LIVE IN THE PRAIRIES OF MEXICO AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. NOW PRAIRIE DOGS MOSTLY EAT PLANTS. PRAIRIE DOGS EAT PLANT LIKE GRASS, LEAVES, BARK, FRUIT, AND FLOWERS. PRAIRIE DOGS MIX BUGS WITH THEIR DIET. PEPOLE THINK OF PRARIE DOGS AS PESTS BECAUSE PRAIRIE DOGS EAT THE PLANTS WE GROW. SO, EVERYONE AGREED TO TAKE UP THE PRARIE DOGS LAND SPACE, BY MOVING OUR HOUSES NEXT TO PRAIRIE DOGS HOMES. MANY OF THE PRAIRIE DOGS DIED. ABOUT TWO-MILLION PRARIE DOGS ARE LEFT ON EARTH. RIGHT NOW, THE UTAH AND MEXICAN PRAIRIE DOGS ARE ENDANGERED(IN- DAN-JERED) ENDANGERED MEANS THEY'RE "IN DANGER" OF GOING EXTINCT. (X-STINKED). EXTINCT MEANS THERE ARE NO MORE LEFT ON EARTH. PEPOLE ARE NOT THE ONLY THINGS THAT HUNT PRAIRIE DOGS. BLACK FOOTED FERETS HUNT PRAIRIE DOGS ALSO. BUT HOWEVER, BLACK FOOTED FERETS HAVE BEEN EXPLAINED EXTINCT MILLIONS OF TIMES. BUT BLACK FOOTED FERETS HAVE NOT GONE EXTINCT AT ALL. NOW SOME PEPOLE STILL HUNT FOR PRAIRIE DOGS, WHILE OTHERS TRY TO PROTECT PRAIRIE DOGS. WELL I HOPE YOU LEARNED ALOT ABOUT PRARIE DOGS, AND TRY TO HELP THEM.

The wombat
Yesterday, I read a book about wombats. I didn't get to finish it, but I'll tell ya some things I learned about wombats. First I learned that wombats are found in the forests of the Continent Australia and Tasmania. Then I learned that Wombats are marsupials. Marsupials are mammals that keep there babies in a pouch on there bodies. Kangaroos and opossums are marsupials. The third thing I learned in the book is how wombats were first known. Now wombats dig burrows in the ground. So when Europe people went to Australia, they found a strange creature digging burrows in the ground. They were thinking of it of as a badger. They decided to call it a womat or a wobat. So it got the name wombat. That was everything I learned in the book

Jackson's summer
During the summer, I went to Floridia. This is about my first day at the Atlantic ocean and the hotel at Floridia which had alot of games and big beds with plenty of flowers on them. When I first got to the hotel, I didn't know where my bed was. It was not the same place as the last time at the Floridia hotel
