Kite Flying

Yesterday, I flew a kite, that looked kinda like a rainbow bird.

It was very awesome and the kite was flying higher than the birds. How would you like to fly a kite like that? I also came with rusty, my dog. I took pictures with him, which took a long time because the sun was in my eyes whenever my dad took a picture which made it hard to open my eyes. Then I took another picture with rusty and my annoying, older sister, Marissa. It took us a long time for that picture too. While Dan my step dad was flying the kite, we were still tacking pictures, wondering who the the kite would land on. Suddenly, the kite landed on all three of us. Wow. My first time flying a kite might be the best time.

kung fu panda

last week, I saw the movie kung fu panda with Dad and Dan, movie theater. The movie was very funny. It was about a panda named Po, that was chosen as the dragon warrior by the turtle. But the master didn't think that po was ready to be the dragon warrior. So he trained po about kung fu, and po got really good at it, ( well not at first ) and po defeated the evil leopard. The leopard became evil because, the master found the leopard next to his house, when he was a baby. The master thought the leopard was so cute, he thought of it as his own son. But one day he was not chosen the dragon warrior. So that's how he became evil. The movie was so funny, I kept talking about it. If you have not seen the the movie, you should see it.

Piloting a Boat

I got to drive Grandma JoAnne's boat this week on the river. We saw a deer that was running along the side of the river. The deer was very fast. Gee, I never knew that deer could run that fast. Also, it was really awesome that I could drive the boat, because I was the youngest human being on the boat (Buddy, the dog, is seven). Everyone gave me directions because they were scared that I was going to crash. Now before I sailed, I told them I drove million of boats before, you just weren't there. Then I got to drive in the middle of the river all the way to the dam. It was a lot of fun. Then I showed them I could pilot a boat.

our Petosky trip

We went on a Petosky trip which I got very tired of, because it was when you ride your bike 26 miles. Would you be tired of that? Now before we went biking, we chose our bikes at the biking center. My bicycle was blue, small, and had the word giant on the back of it like all of our bikes. Then we started to ride our bikes after we filled our water bottles with cold water and put on our helmets. We did take alot of stops because I got tired and thirsty real easy.

All of a sudden, we went down a really big hill. It was huge and we had fun riding down it to Lake Michigan in Bay Harbor. Imagine that! We had to go back up that big hill later. When we got down the hill, we passed by a rocky field next to the lake. We took lots of pictures there. I was probably really sweaty in the pictures. We ran out of water, so we got some more in a dinking fountain. Suddenly there was some lightening and it started to rain so we didn't make it all the way to Charlevoix like we were supposed to. We rode back to the biking station and returned our bikes and helmets. That was one great bike ride, even though I got really sweaty.

The DeYoung Family Zoo

I really wanted to go to the zoo and see some black bears. So we went to the zoo in Wallace, Michigan on Monday with Marissa, Grandma JoAnne, Grandpa Bob, Dad, Dan, and Aunt Patty. We saw a lot of endangered and non-endangered animals there. The first place we went was the reptile building. Reptiles are cold blooded animals, that have scales, and a back bone called a vertebrate. Reptiles also lay eggs like birds, amphibians, and insects. It was called the reptile building, even though they a few mammals in there. Mammals are warm blooded animals that give live birth, witch means the don't lay eggs. But a platypus lays eggs, but is a mammal. Isn't that unusual? Mammals also have hair. Anyway, we human beings are mammals.

Now first in the reptile building I saw a snake. It was HUGE and long! How would you like to see a snake like that. next I saw a turtle and a small alligator. They were in the same tank. I actually thought they were awesome. Next I saw a fox. Can you believe that?! So when we got out of the reptile building, we got to hold some animals. The first thing I held was a spider monkey. It was very cute. But the second thing I got to hold was another monkey. It was very cute like the spider monkey. and guess what else I got to hold. It was a endangered tiger! Can you believe that?! Then after that, we went to the barn where I got to pet a pig. Now I am a pig's predator, but I should treat the pig nicely and barely eat bacon. I also fed a goat and a lama. It was great and I loved it, but then it was time to go. Then guess what, I saw a bear like I wanted!

GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

Yesterday I went to the Greek restaurant. It was a blast, and they really had great food. At the restaurant I ordered chicken shish-ka-bob. shish-ka-bob is a stick with this pattern on the stick. Meat, tomatoes, veggies, and onions. That's the pattern on the stick. Marissa ordered the same thing as me. That was the time at the Greek restaurants
